Targeted Traffic - 3 Tips For Your Article Marketing

Copyright (c) 2010 Riley West

One of the simplest and best ways to get targeted traffic to your web page is by using the method called article marketing.

What you do is write an article on your topic with an "author's resource box" at the end of the article that has links back to where you want your traffic to go! Simple.

And you CAN keep it simple and long as you keep these 3 main ideas in place.

1. Your article needs to get into the top ten Google rankings for the keyword you are targeting. Here's how you do that, which is, essentially, pick the right keyword, then do the right things.

If you are targeting a keyword such as "acne cure" you have to look it over a little first. That particularly broad keyword may have too much competition. In fact it probably does!

One way to find out for sure is to type it in and see which sites are in the top ten results, the first page.

If the sites there have low page rank (PR) it should be fairly easy for you. Google has a free page rank checker.

What you want to find are keywords that, when they are typed into Google, the top 4 or 5 results are PR3 or under! That's one you can rank for!

For the sake of this article I went and found "natural cures for acne scars" it gets some searches daily AND it has no competitors over PR3 in the top 4 or 5 results.

This keyword, when employed correctly, will result in traffic looking for "natural cures for acne scars." That's what we mean by targeted traffic keywords. You KNOW what they are looking for.

Finding these keywords can get a little tedious but remember this saying, "If you can get traffic you can make money." Maybe you just need a little inspiration. And a little automation.

2. Now you write the article that's targeting the keyword by putting the keyword in the title and in the first and last paragraphs. In the body aim at 1%.

3. Finally you have an author's resource box - this is what it's all for!

This box gives you two things so important that it is vital to understand - targeted traffic and targeted keyword text links back to your page!

The fictitious person we are talking about here must have an offer or information on a web page that is targeting "natural cures for acne scars" or/and "natural cures for acne".

If that is your case you want to write your resource box in such a way as to cause the reader to want to click your links back to your site.

But that is not the only or even most important thing about the links back to your offer. Yes we want then to click and come to your offer.

But we also want to increase your offer pages ranking by using the exact words you are targeting as the link text.

That would look like this... If it is "natural cures for acne" you are looking for, you have found it at...where the link itself is those words, without the quotes.

You now have a keyword text link pointing back to your offer and probably two! Google sees your keyword text link as a vote for your site for that keyword thus moving your page toward page one!

This is so important that you must not forget it.

So remember the 3 points are...

1. Get the right keyword.

2. Structure your article to target that keyword adequately.

3. Put two links in your author's resource box that use that that keyword and/or a "cousin" as a link back to your site.

The folks who do this are the folks who get traffic and make money.

It'd be great to have a web site that puts money into your paypal account? All it takes is a good flow of FREE targeted traffic to your site? Getting ranked for a keyword is the way online marketers do it and so can you! See an experts approach at Targeted Traffic the post at Riley West's blog!
