I honestly can't think of a more agonizing situation than still being very much in love with your ex but he or she has seemingly moved on. Maybe he or she is seeing someone new, or maybe your ex is single but one thing you know for certain: your ex is not with you!

You probably have heard this before, but learn a new language or learn a new hobby. You will take the focus off obsessing and transfer this energy into learning something new. This is good for two reasons: you're not contacting your ex and you're not obsessing over your ex. The point of all this is that when you do see your ex, you want to introduce him or her to a whole new you. Evidently something about the old you drove your ex away and to get your ex interested in you again, it's important to show him or her a different side of you.

Part of not obsessing is not staying at home every night hoping the phone will ring. Good out with your friends. Have a great time. Don't let the holidays be the only time you can, "Eat, Drink and be Merry".

Over time you'll realize that you haven't obsessed over getting back together and you've discovered some things about yourself. When you do see your ex again, don't you want him or her to see this new YOU rather than the Ex they left a few months ago?

Now that some time has passed, call your ex. He or she has undoubtedly "heard through the grapevine" that you've worked on yourself. Chances are he or she is curious about these changes. Take things slowly, but my guess is that all the work you've done on yourself will go a long way to get your ex interested in you again.
