so sijnce yesterday i have 6 months with my belly button piercing & i really liked this heart ring i saw and bought it but it says ==> 316L
i think thats the mettle type but im not sure, anyways Do i need to go sterilize it first, clean it, or just be carefull and change it ?

Cartilage piercing question?
I got my cartilage piercing done a few weeks ago on my right ear (since I sleep on my left side usually). I started looking at cartilage earrings because I'll be able to change it soon. I got it done in a professional piercing parlor, so I have a plain steel CBR and I think it's kind of ugly. Oh well. I'll change it soon enough. Anyway, back to my question.
I looked on one website where I have gotten most of my body jewelry (I have a few other piercings), and I noticed that they differentiate between right cartilage/tragus earrings and left cartilage/tragus earrings. I have a few questions about this:
1) Are cartilage and tragus stud earrings the same thing? Some say just cartilage, some say just tragus, and some say both cartilage and tragus, but they're all listed under the "cartilage stud" section of the website.
2) Is there a difference between left cartilage earrings and right cartilage earrings? I know that some of the fancier and more ornate ones (like this: http://www.bodycandy.com/cgi-bin/item/25943) go on a specific side because of the design of the earring, but I'm looking at plain studs with just one gem. The plain studs (like this: http://www.bodycandy.com/cgi-bin/item/25575) should be the same whether they're marked for the right or left ear, right?
3) Is it possible to remove a CBR on my own? I'm a college student and I go to school about 4 hours away from my hometown and where I got the piercing done, and I honestly don't know if there are any piercing parlors around my school. It's a pretty small town.
4) Are earrings for just a plain old lobe piercing the same size as those for a cartilage piercing? I know navel jewelry is 14G and cartilage jewelry is 16G, and my CBR looks smaller than the earrings I have in my lobes. 18G maybe? I think I just answered that for myself.
5) What happens if I put a regular lobe piercing in my cartilage? I bought an adorable pack of nautical themed earrings for lobe piercings, and I was hoping to put the little anchor in my cartilage this summer. Can I do that, or will it shrink to the size of the smaller earring? Can I stretch it back to a 16G earring if I want to?

What are some reliable sites to get jewelry?
I want to get a nice lip ring that doesn't mess with my piercing. I don't want it to be cheap quality. I figured that someone has bought nice jewelry somewhere on the internet. Many stores around here don't sell piercing jewelry other that earrings. A few sites that have given you good products would be much appreciated!! Thanks!
