How To Get Better Grades In School

Get Better Grades High SchoolGetting good grades in school can be difficult. There are so many distractions such as friends, work, and family that sometimes it becomes hard to focus entirely on school work. Consider the following ways to get better grades in school.

Sit in the Front Row

My Human Resources professor is highly intelligent. He majored in both psychology and business. Often he makes jokes about how the students in the front of the class will get better grades than the students who sit in the back. He actually has a valid point. Statistically, students who sit in the front row do better in school. The reason for this is because usually students who sit in the front hear the teacher better and are less likely to stop paying attention since the teacher is in such close proximity. Yes, it is true that most students who sit in the first row are typically over achievers but studies have shown that students who normally sat in the back were asked to sit in the first row actually noticed a difference. they noticed that their attention span got better and believed their grades would improve as well.

Review Teachers

In school I've encountered teachers that are so bad that I find it hard to even pay attention to the material. Usually my grades suffer as a result of that. In order to avoid getting stuck with a passion less teacher I go on review sites such as ratemyprofessor.com or reviewum.com. Almost every major school is listed on the mentioned websites. Of course, it isn't fool proof but it will enhance your chances of getting better grades.

Study at School

One of the best ways to get better grades is to study at school. Chances are you will focus better because you are immersed in a study zone. Other students are studying so it provides a productive and inspiring environment. It is similar to going to the gym. It may be a drag to go but in the end you get a lot more done.

Find a Study Partner

Often times there are other individuals in school who are having a hard time keeping their grades up as well. Find a study partner that motivates you to do better. Quizzing each other on school material keeps your mind alert.
