Strengthening the health system

"Dear graduates, you constitute the essential component for proper use of our scarce resources to maximize performance at all levels of public or private intervention, " he said, Montana, on Friday, the rector of the UEH Jean Vernet Henry, before a large audience of executives from the Ministry of Public Health, diplomats, representatives of international organizations, teachers and members of PARC. The president spoke to twenty-five recipients forming the seventh promotion of students who completed the graduate program specializing in management and management of health services (DESS).

According to Mr. Vernet, it should enhance this experience lies in the wake of efforts by UEH to develop sustainably, the two levels of higher education, in the case of master programs and PhD.

He said he is "indeed rare in our country that a project takes many years of accumulated results. Since 2001, said he, almost two hundred (200) professionals have completed that course and have obtained their degrees in DESS, issued by the UEH.

The Minister of Health, Dr. Alex Larsen, while congratulating the graduates and teachers, noted that "it is not always easy to go on to school especially when one has already profession. Also, he said, the MSPP will depend on their expertise to serve the Haitian health system.

For the sustainability of DESS

"To sustain the training of trainee, we must develop a close collaboration between the MSPP, the university and the faculty, " essentially wanted to Dr. Larsen. A wish that share without the charge retention of Assistant PARK, Ms. Arnelle Thélusma, which relies heavily on continuity effective program. "We're in our seventh promotion. We welcome this initiative which aims to revitalize the health sector in Haiti, "she said.

Ms. Thélusma finds its satisfaction not only in the quality of training that was received by the recipients but also their commitment to go and offer their service in their respective communities. "The most interesting part of this program is that these health professionals will be integrated into the county health departments to serve the community, " she said later, happy as a fish in water.

Smiling, a winner of the promotion, the nurse Lucia Point Dujour, native of Les Cayes, which practices in the past twenty years, says it is ready to bring its expertise to the health system in Haiti. She said her husband and her children have made many sacrifices and have framed in the hardest moments. She says she is proud to have achieved this degree.

On behalf of the promotion, she exulted: "We are pleased to have completed our course. We won a battle over. All DESS team can consider themselves fortunate to have delivered the goods. "She further said that" the MSPP has the duty to be challenging at a time when all health indicators are red. "

For the Canadian ambassador Gilles Rivard, today's ceremony is a celebration because the success of these graduates is that of teachers. "I hope that you will be known for the quality of your work. And the Haitian State relies heavily on you. "
