Haiti Disaster Relief Fund

United States Civil Defense Disaster Relief Fund: Haiti. Your gift will go toward: Disaster Relief Fund: Haiti

A massive, 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti near the capital of Port-au-Prince on Tuesday, January 12th. United States Civil Defense is working to rush emergency supplies to survivors of this catastrophe in Haiti.
The earthquake that devastated Haiti Tuesday was the strongest temblor to hit the island nation in more than 200 years. The magnitude 7.0 quake caused tremendous damage that officials have yet to fully characterize, and the death toll may run into the thousands.

The earthquake that devastated Haiti Tuesday was the strongest temblor to hit the island nation in more than 200 years. The magnitude 7.0 quake caused tremendous damage that officials have yet to fully characterize, and the death toll may run into the thousands.

In 2008, Haiti lost at least 800 people to a series of hurricanes -- Fay, Gustav, Hanna and Ike -- and now, the impoverished nation is suffering after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake, and several strong aftershocks. Hundreds are dead, and thousands more feared dead. The capital, Port-au-Prince, is devastated.

Your gift now will help distribute relief supplies - including food, clean water, blankets, and tents to children and families impacted by the earthquake and aftershocks in Haiti.

The immediate need is dry foods such as rice, beans and can foods. They also need tents and army type cots and blankets.

Send your gift, food or supplies to: USCD, 301 Forest Ave, Laguna Beach, CA 92653.

What do you think of the black lady sitting beside Pat Robertson when he declared his support for slavery ?
As you may have heard Televangelist Pat Robertson said Haitians made a pact with the devil (foolish seeing how natural disasters happen on every Continent in this globe)The funny part was a African American lady who is of slave descent was sitting their agreeing with him.As he basically implied that Haitians are at fault for revolting against their french colonists who where enslaving them .http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5TE99sAbwM Death toll in Haiti 50,000 so far

CAN YOU PLEASE RE-WORD THIS FOR ME?? PLEASE!! 10 POINTS?!?
PLEASE. only if you can do ONE of them that is enough.. i want it to be worded really good my wording isnt too good normally, and in english atm we are doing a rewording assingment thing hard to explain The destruction from the Haiti quake is comparable to the San Francisco one in 1906, as huge portions of both cities were damaged. Nevertheless the 1906 quake was more powerful. While the Haiti quake was 7.0 , the San Francisco quake is estimated to be anywhere between a 7.7 and an 8.3. The death toll in Haiti was much larger then in 1906, in San Francisco the death toll was about 3,000 while in Haiti, the official death Toll is about 50,000, but that is incomplete and some estimates suggest that as many as 200,000 have died in the earthquake. San Francisco was (and still is) a prosperous city and was able to rebuild after the destruction. Haiti is very poor, However a lot of foreign aid is pouring in to help the Haitians rebuild. Port-au-Prince will rebuild, and sadly will still be very poo. It is unlikely that Haiti will install strict building codes or enforce them, even if they do, and there will still be severe damage the next time a powerful earthquake hits
