How To Send Flowers Like A Pro

send-flowers: Flowers Send FlowersSending flowers to those we love and care about is a nice way to say I am thinking of you. Receiving flowers is a great way to cause a smile to develop on one's face. But sending flowers to people who live in other cities and other states can seem a little complicated, until you learn the tips of how to send flowers like a pro.

Tip number one: Pick the flowers out yourself. Don't just allow the florist to pick out your flowers for you.

No, you won't get to see the actual flowers. But you can pick your favorite type of flower or the recipient's favorite flower. Plus, if you go to the florist shop in person, you may get to see pictures of how the arrangements will look.

Tip number two: What is the best way to pick out a florist in another city? If you aren't familiar with the city, you probably do not know who are the best florists. Right?

Calling local hotels and ask the concierge for recommendations of who the top florists are could be the easiest way in finding them.

Once you have a couple of recommendations, check to see if these florists have their own websites and pay attention to the variety they have to offer. Remember seasonal plants and flowers are always a favorite choice.

Tip number three: Narrow the types of flowers you want to consider and definitely consider such things as size and life length.

Orchids are considered luxurious plants and can live long lives.

Tulips come in many varieties and should be ordered along with long, skinny vases to support their stems.

When in doubt, roses are always a good choice.

Tip number four: Even simple flowers are appreciated and loved.

Stick to one color or one color palette. It looks more sophisticated.

If the flower arrangement is for a business associated stick with cream or white colored flowers.

If your sending flowers to a man, callia lilies in a warm color is a nice choice.

Skip the baby's breath and ferns.

Tip number five: Don't send flowers that have strong scents such as Casablanca lilies or hyacinths. These can be overpowering.

If you want a flower with a subtle scent stick with peonies or roses.

Tip number six: Definitely have a well thought out message added onto the note card that goes along with the flowers. Plan ahead on what you want to say. You may even want to write it down and have it handy, when you call up the flowers or visit a florist in person. Think of something memorable and personal to say. (Some people do save these).

Tip number seven Do send flowers often. It shows that you care.
